About

When we speak of Hispanic and Latino Heritage, we speak of a rich, diverse cultural legacy. From Argentina to Colombia, and Spain to Mexico, Hispanic people are wide-flung, reflecting a wealth of cultural diversity. Along with a common language heritage, they’ve developed their own remarkable blends of music, dance, art, cultural traditions, and of course food. Hispanic cultures around the world are unique in their own ways yet share of a common core of similarities, a certain inner pride in what it means to be Hispanic.

Shakira is a famous Hispanic artist.
So is Ricky Martin.

As the world’s third largest language, Spanish ranks only after English and Putonghua. Apart from Spain, there are more than 20 countries (nearly 400 million people) which adopt Spanish the official language, including many Latin American countries like Mexico and Cuba. The number of Spanish learners has surged in the past 10 years and it is estimated that it will exceed 500 million in the next 15 years.

We are the Spanish Society, Arts Association, Hong Kong University Students’ Union. Established in 2013. We have been striving to promote the Hispanic cultures and the Spanish language. The Society is known for its resemblance of the Hispanic laidback vibes. As you might notice, unlike other societies under the Arts Association, we do not have an official society logo, which simply complies with our no-rule rule.
